About the Role:

This position is for a Research Executive or Consultant working on the Energy & Natural Resources desk supporting a team of eight consultants and advising a portfolio of UK and international clients in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Renewables, Mining & Metals sectors.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertaking of research, monitoring and market intelligence on client and new business opportunities;
  • Preparation of briefing documents, reports and media analyses for the team ahead of meetings or client activity;
  • Drafting and editing of written materials and presentations that are contextually correct and audience appropriate;
  • Summarising extensive documents and providing key points;
  • Building an understanding of media relations skills and requirements;
  • Assisting in delivery of media and analyst engagement in support of client programmes;
  • Building an understanding of investor relations skills including share register analysis, benchmarking and shareholder/analyst contact;
  • Submission of regulatory statements under instruction;
  • Assisting in the organisation of client and marketing events;
  • Providing briefs to suppliers including designers, photographers and printers;
  • Identifying new business opportunities; and
  • Preparation of new business documentation and credentials.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in PR, consultancy, or financial institution would be an advantage;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the media and communications industry, and/or the financial markets, and/or public policy advocacy;
  • Demonstrable interest in public and international affairs;
  • Proven ability to conduct detailed research and analysis;
  • Educated to degree level: minimum 2:1, any discipline considered;
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite;
  • A well-presented communicator, both verbally and in writing;
  • Proven ability to build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders;
  • An individual that shows initiative and takes responsibility for planning and organising their own work;
  • A team-player who can work flexibly within a team;
  • An individual that embraces change and is quickly able to adapt to team needs/ demands and priorities to deliver to set/multiple deadlines;
