Deadline: November 11, 2018

About the Company:

Fidelity International invests money on behalf of institutions and private individuals.

Because we’re privately owned, we’re fully focused on the long-term interests of our clients – with both the commitment and the resources to provide the investment expertise, technology and service innovation needed to help them achieve their financial goals.

About the Role:

Multi Asset professionals use sophisticated qualitative and quantitative investment techniques to get the best returns from a client’s fund or portfolio, while still carefully managing risk. The group invests across equities, bonds, real estate, commodities and alternatives, so there’s a big remit here.

Two years of rotations will cover our core research capabilities – Markets Research and Manager Research. You’ll research investment strategies across equities, commodities, bonds, property and more, learning about the behaviour of different asset classes in the markets.

You’ll work closely with senior colleagues in both Europe and Asia. We’ll expect you to take an active part in research meetings, give your opinions on markets and industry insights, and learn how to justify your points as part of a community of experts. By the programme’s end, you will have developed many of the skills required to research markets and managers.

Requirements:

Strong numerical and analytical capabilities alone aren’t enough. To evaluate asset classes you need strong powers of self-motivation, keen attention to detail and good technical and analytical skills. It’s a matter of being able to think strategically, then use quantitative analysis to back up your ideas. So we look for intelligent, quick-thinking graduates with a keen interest in the industry.

We take on people from all degree disciplines. You will need to have high grades at A level or equivalent and achieved (or be on track for) a 2:1 or above. We want to see is drive, confidence, evidence of independent thinking and the ability to communicate and articulate your ideas to people inside and outside the business. Individuals who combine excellence in both quantitative and qualitative fields typically succeed within Multi Asset.
