About the Role:

At Wheatsheaf, we have developed a Graduate Programme designed to provide you with an opportunity to work within an innovative, fast paced and growing organisation. If you haven't previously studied a finance/investment related degree, we support you (financially and with study leave) through an external qualification (i.e. CFA). Graduates join the Wheatsheaf business at our Chester head office though you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues in our Minneapolis, US, and London offices. The Wheatsheaf Graduate Programme comprises of 3 x 12 month placements within the business.

What will you be doing?

  • Learning all aspects of Wheatsheaf's financial planning and Investment management proposition
  • Gaining experience of investment portfolio construction and governance to meet andor exceed Wheatsheaf's target
  • Developing the appropriate technical and market awareness knowledge in order to assist senior managers in providing effective advice
  • Conducting due diligence on companies and industries by researching, reading financial statements and market data Market research, comparative industry analysis
  • Analysing financial information relating to specific companies, e.g. company results, profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements to determine how an organisation is positioned to deliver for investors
  • Keeping up to date with market developments, new investment products and all other areas that can affect the markets, e.g. movements in the economies of relevant countries
  • Financial modelling and projection
  • Meeting with and providing information to senior managers; this might include summaries of research, investment ideas, key events from the proceeding day as well as key drivers for the day ahead
  • Making recommendations to senior managers, being able to position ideas and articulate to the senior manager about the risk or payoff for each recommendation
  • Ensuring that all compliance regulations are met

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree - Flexible about degree discipline
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills

  • Advanced Microsoft office package capabilities
