Avalon is a student led initiative from The University of Sheffield. Through participation in the competition in the two previous years, the last of which was held in Seattle, Washington, USA, Avalon has become the first ever team from England to qualify to the final stage, and has done so two years in a row!

The MATE ROV Competition is an annual underwater robotics competition, held in various locations including the USA and Canada.The aim of the competition is to build a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) capable of performing underwater missions based on specific real life problems. About the Role:

We are looking for a Finance Officer to:

• Identify and pursue various opportunities for funding within the university and externally through writing proposals, networking, giving presentations and other activities.
• Secure funding and follow up with sponsors to ensure we get the money on time and that any promises made to the sponsor are fulfilled on time.
• Manage purchasing.
