About the Role:

RBC Amplify is an intensive internship programme set up to solve big business challenges. Our goal is to bring in bright minds with fresh ideas to change up how we do things at RBC.

We’re looking for individuals with skills who stand out in a crowd. If you’re top of your class, own the hackathon circuit, think big and are perpetually curious, we want you!

• Immerse yourself in a business challenge with an intense focus on collaboration to develop an innovative solution.
• You will be challenged to step outside your comfort zone, and bring your teamwork and collaboration skills to help your team succeed.
• You will be expected to design, create and deliver a minimum viable product (MVP) to RBC that solves a real business need.
• You will play an integral role in engaging your critical thinking, time management and leadership skills within your team.
• Design, troubleshoot and develop your solution.
• Work with subject matter experts, mentors, executive sponsors (technology and business) to build your solution.
• Exposure to design thinking, agile development and other tools, technologies and methodologies.
• Executive presentations, developing strategy and communications for your project.
• Present your solution at RBC’s Toronto HQ to a panel of executives.

Requirements:

Must have:

• Penultimate or final year student currently enrolled on an undergrad or postgrad university course with a focus on business, finance, marketing, design, or other related fields.
• Ability to understand and communicate business value.
• Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience in stakeholder engagement and working with end users and clients to understand their needs.
• Excellent critical thinking, time management and leadership skills.
• Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced team environment.
• Ability to challenge the status quo, and think outside the box to develop solutions.
• Excellent teamwork, collaboration and problem solving skills.

Nice to have:

• Experience with hackathons.
• Experience with business presentations.
• Project management skills.
• Solid understanding of financial business, FinTech industry, start up industry or other related insights.
