Engage on campus

Engaging on campus is a great way for you to expose your organisation to our students and to create a talent pipeline for your organisation. It provides opportunities for students to ask questions and find out more about their career interests from a range of organisations. On campus you can host events, skills sessions and workshops, take part in guest lectures and career talks.

Guest speakers

Business practitioners sometimes lead a session to students that is part of a module on a programme; this can be on one of our undergraduate programmes, our specialist masters courses, or on the MBA programme. Sessions tend to be in a specialist subject area lasting around 30-40 minutes plus 15-20 minutes at the end for questions.

Students are interested to hear from professionals in specialist roles, and those who may be registered or chartered professionals too. They are keen to learn how to start marking out their own careers in their areas of interest.

Career talks

Our Management School students want to hear from experts who are doing the jobs that they want to do. They want to listen to your story about what you did after graduation, how you got promoted, the risks you took and how they paid off. We aim to bring into the School a range of professionals, to provide insight into their own careers, to our undergraduate and postgraduate students. Talks can last about 30-40 minutes with 15-20 minutes at the end for questions, but the format can be tailored to meet both yours and the needs of the students.

Students are interested to hear insights into your current role and the organisation you work for, your career to date, and any advice you would give to today's graduates applying to work in your organisation. We welcome professionals at any stage in your career from across the business sectors, to talk to our students about your own career journey so far.

Workshops and skills sessions

At the Management School, our Employability Team delivers a range of activities to help prepare students for the application process. This includes a range or workshops and sessions focussing on elements such as application forms, CVs and covering letters, interview techniques and assessment centres. Sessions provide students with knowledge and techniques, as well as being practical and interactive to enable students to practise elements of the application process.

We welcome employers and recruiters to help deliver sessions, working with our Employability and Careers Teams, to give students practical experience of the different elements of the application process. These can be interactive games as part of a mock assessment centre activity, examples of application forms, psychometric tests, and a chance for students to practice their interview techniques. Sessions can vary in format but can be tailored to suit both yours and the needs of the students.
