About the Role:

The Aspen Graduate Program develops the next generation of diverse leaders, innovators, and progressive professionals. Every year we take on a number of graduates into different streams including Underwriting, Actuarial & Capital Modelling, Business Transformation, Compliance, Internal Audit and Finance. Our next Graduate Program will begin in September 2018 and will run for two years, during which our graduates will receive professional training and development opportunities, be fully sponsored and supported through their professional qualifications, provided with an enviable support network, and receive a competitive starting salary and benefits.

Aspen is an innovator in the management of complex risks on behalf of our clients and as an Underwriting Graduate you will have the opportunity to gain experience in some of the most specialist lines of business in Insurance. While on the graduate scheme you will carry out rotations which will give you the opportunity to gain an understanding of different lines of business, build key relationships and build your knowledge around the type of risks we write.

In the role you will quickly gain exposure to Brokers and Clients so excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build enduring relationships are vital. You must be decisive and, with experience, will be able to accept or decline risks on behalf of Aspen. In the UK you will study for the Advanced Diploma in Insurance Professional Qualification bearing the “ACII” designation and in the US you will work towards the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or related designation.

Requirements:

We are open-minded about the type of degree you have and are looking for graduates who are highly numerate and are on track to achieve a 2:1 (UK) or GPA 3.0 (US) or above. In the UK you will have good GCSE and A/AS Level grades (300 UCAS points) or equivalent.

We are looking for candidates who are self-starters and are able to handle multiple tasks and prioritise demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
