About the Role:

Are you studying marketing or a related subject at university and seeking a professional placement?

We are looking for an enthusiastic undergraduate with a strong interest in marketing and PR to join our busy marketing team.

In this role you will provide valuable support to a small, dynamic marketing team.

A great opportunity to gain hands-on marketing experience, build your marketing and PR portfolio together with the opportunity to carry out specific marketing projects using the full marketing mix.

King Edward’s will provide a monthly placement fee and the option of on-site subsidised accommodation.

Main duties and Key responsibilities:

Communications and PR:

  • Support the Marketing team with general management and development of the school website including but not limited to sourcing stories, writing copy and uploading news stories and photo galleries to the website.
  • Non-professional photography and filming of school events.
  • Responsible for implementation of the social media strategy through all social channels and growing stakeholder social engagement.
  • Support the Marketing team in production of the bi-annual school magazine “Kestrel”, by gathering stories and images, copywriting and proofreading.
  • Support the Marketing team and the Editor of “House Magazine” in project management, proofreading features, uploading features and sourcing images.
  • Support the School Reception team with occasional cover as required.
  • Touring prospective families on an ad hoc basis, where required.

Event management:

  • Support the Marketing team in running internal and external events; for example, Open Days, feeder school events, press days etc. This includes some weekends and evenings which are taken back in lieu.
  • Responsible throughout the weekday evenings and weekends for ensuring A-board signage is appropriately put out/taken down as required.

Administration:

  • Manage marketing literature (in the storeroom) and on-going amalgamation of prospectus packs, office supplies and purchasing of promotional products.
  • Assist the Marketing team in all digital and hard copy administrative tasks where required.
  • On occasions administration help may be required for our partner school Barrow Hills.

Market research:

  • Primary research and secondary research into competitors’ product and offering to develop a full competitive and prospective customer landscape.
  • Support the Marketing Department in development of an inclusive and on-going market research programme for prospects and the existing customer base.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Marketing, Business Studies or Economics undergraduate with a genuine interest in Marketing and PR.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Excellent IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Photoshop.
  • An enthusiastic and can do attitude.
  • An appreciation and dedication to the importance of the safeguarding agenda.
  • Enthusiasm for the sympathy with an educational environment and the aims of King Edward’s Witley in particular.

Desirable;

  • Experience, and an interest in, photography and video would be very useful.
