About the Role:

The role of a Project Manager has three focus areas, co-ordination of small engagements, support of a Senior PM in a large project, and management and administration of the iPMO.

The intern will have the opportunity to independently manage small projects within agreed time, budget and quality criteria, building their co-ordination and communication skills and abilities.

The Project Manager (Intern) will also support Senior Project Managers on complex cloud and automation projects. The role will focus on taking responsibility for many of the project management administrative responsibilities, as well as actively supporting delivery at all stages of a project.

The project manager role is also responsible for the administration and management of the iPMO. The iPMO accepts projects into the consulting organisation, works with the Delivery Managers on resource alignment, and tracks project progress throughout the project lifecycle to ensure quality criteria are followed and met.

The intern will receive substantial guidance, feedback, and mentoring from the PSO team to help build their Project Management skills in a fast-paced technology environment.

Requirements:

  • Team player – must be able to work as an effective member of a team and have first class communication skills (both written and verbally) and the confidence to deal with stakeholders of all levels
  • Resilient self-starter - the PSO is a fast paced environment and requires a level of self-confidence and resilience, must have a desire to 'get stuck in' and really make a difference
  • Motivated and organized - the role has a lot of autonomy, to be successful the PM intern must be highly organized and able to prioritize their workload and happy to multi-task
  • Good problem solver – someone who can think outside of the box and identify solutions others may fail to consider
  • Industry knowledge – a basic understanding of the technology industry and how IT projects are managed and delivered
