We run screen printing workshops for people in Sheffield who may have experienced homelessness and other complex issues. We collaborate with local artists to create unique artwork, then: We hand screen print artwork. We sell the prints. We run more workshops. We also offer custom t-shirt and mug printing for artists, brands and businesses.

About the Role:

We are looking for someone to complete a 2-week internship as a Programme Assistant.

Specific duties:

• Support the development of organisations internship programme
• Investigate current volunteer opportunities and provision within Sheffield
• Research and develop new micro business ideas
• Research and develop well-being and support ideas
• Develop links with local companies to explore possibilities for volunteering, work experience and financial/in-kind support.
• Develop links with other agencies in South Yorkshire to set up referral pathways.

General duties:

• Provide support and information to Just Works Partner Participants.
• Develop and use social media to promote Just Works.
• Attend Just Works & CAP meetings & events where required.
• Spend some time at our partner organisation, the Cathedral Archer Project, shadowing staff.
• Learn how our current micro businesses/service contracts are working
• Attend workshops and events relating to printedbyus.org - screen printing workshops, event stalls etc.

Requirements:

  • Good Listening Skills
  • Ability to work sensitively in a confidential manner
  • Ability to work independently
  • Interested in and/or knowledge of Social Enterprise
  • Interested in social change
  • Good knowledge of different social media channels and how to use them effectively to promote sales and/or awareness
  • Good IT skills using Microsoft Office
  • Awareness of mental health and substance misuse
