The role

If you join us as a Business graduate you can expect to work on different projects in roles such as Business Analyst, Junior Service Delivery Managers and in PMO.

We typically have business graduate vacancies within the following industries: Banking, Energy Utilities and Telecoms (EUT) and Public Sector business units. We also sometimes recruit into our UK Alliances team.

We recruit Business graduates into various base locations across the UK with our main hubs for business graduates being; Birmingham, Bridgend, Essex, London and Milton Keynes. As CGI is a consultancy, your projects could operate from your base office, a client site or at other CGI offices, asides from your base location. You should therefore, be prepared for some travel in your role. As part of the selection process, you will be asked to state your industry and location preferences so we would encourage you to do your research about where you would like to go. Please note that different units operate from different locations and so your first preference for unit and location may not always be a match, so we would encourage you to have a think about how flexible you can be.

Our requirements

Our Business graduates will have studied any degree discipline. If you come from a computer science or STEM background that would be an advantage. Applicants from other degree disciplines are very welcome and will need to demonstrate their knowledge and interested in the world of Technology. Depending on which industry you would like to join, we will consider students with a minimum 2:2. Some business units seek graduates with a minimum 2:1.

We ask that you are able to show a clear drive to start a successful career within the IT sector and a clear passion for working for CGI. The majority of our students/graduate will have studied computer science or IT/STEM based subjects that required them to use programming. Whilst most of our roles involve an element of development, programming, testing or analytics we also look for students/graduates to join our business roles if they are passionate about technology. As well as technical ability, equally important is your ability to listen and communicate. The success of our business depends on our ability to engage with our clients and get under the skin of their organisations. As well as an inquisitive mind, you’ll therefore need to be a strong relationship builder. You’ll need to be flexible, open to sharing ideas and truly collaborative in your approach.

We also ask that you’re working towards a minimum of a 2:2/2:1* degree or above in a relevant IT/STEM subject (we will consider other related degrees if you able to demonstrate clear experience with programs such as open source and/or programming languages including java, C++, C#) for our Technical roles. If you are joining in a Business role we will ask that you’re working towards a minimum of a 2:2/2:1* degree or above in any subject (with a preference for IT/STEM subjects) and that you have a genuine interest and passion for technology. You will also need least 240 UCAS points, or equivalent, gained in one academic year excluding General Studies.
