Operations Management Programme at Royal Mail

Deadline: January 7, 2018

About the Company:

Operations is at the core of our business, keeping the mail moving to every corner of the UK and 29 million addresses. But behind our team of postwomen and men, sorters and drivers, there are decision-makers and motivators who lead and coach our teams to be the very best that they can be. On our Operations management graduate programme, you’ll learn the skills needed to lead our operations.

About the Role:

On this two-year programme, you’ll join one of our mail centres or delivery offices as a line manager, delivery office manager, collections manager or work area manager. Leading between 15 and 100 people in one of our 1,400 operational units around the country, you’ll inspire progress, improve performance and motivate your team to ensure that your unit is running as efficiently and smoothly as possible.

With hands-on responsibility and world-class on-the-job training from the very start, you’ll lay the foundations for a great career at Royal Mail. Every step of the way, Royal Mail will be by your side, with our experienced managers working with you to set and help you reach performance goals – assigning you a buddy, mentor and HR lead to make sure you have a strong support network to rely on. And, when you complete the scheme, we’ll work together to decide whether you’re ready to move into a more challenging role within the business.

All our Graduates receive a generous benefits package including a performance-dependent annual bonus, company-contribution pension, work laptop, work phone and more.

Requirements:

Passionate about people development, with a natural ability to lead: these are the two qualities essential for our Operations management graduate programme, alongside a minimum 2:2 degree in any subject and a full UK driving licence.

Because we operate nationally, you will be expected to relocate as part of the programme. We offer financial support and time off as part of our relocation policy. You’ll also need the right to work full time in the UK.
