About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join Weston Park Cancer Charity’s busy marketing department. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the marketing and fundraising team and assist in the delivery of creative campaigns which promote the vital work of the charity.

This newly created role which will play a vital role in helping us to deliver our vision: a better life for those living with, and beyond, cancer in our region.

Weston Park Cancer Charity is committed to fund things the NHS cannot, and raises over £2million every year to provide; practical help to those in need, emotional support to those in despair and enhanced care for those who need it most.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support campaigns as directed by the Marketing and Communications Manager
  • Ability to write, edit and proof copy for different audiences and communication channels
  • Ability to capture the stories of Weston Park Cancer Charity in new and exciting ways
  • Support with creative briefs and the production of artwork where appropriate
  • Research and create a database of partners in the city and region which will help promote Weston Park Cancer Charity through online links, social media and displaying marketing material.
  • Generate content for the Charity’s social media channels including Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin
  • Support the content management of the website; driving traffic to the site and increasing engagement
  • Create content to support campaigns including the creation of videos, audio and imagery
  • Act as a brand guardian
  • Assist with the creation of fundraising tools
  • Assist in the development of the e-strategy and produce analytical reports on all e-marketing activity
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as printers, to support the production of promotional material
  • Support the Marketing and Communications Manager keeping stakeholders up to date
  • Ensure marketing collateral is kept up to date
  • Proactively identify and build relationships with key media contacts ensuring they are well briefed on the charity’s current communications
  • Monitor press alerts
  • Attend and contribute to the weekly marketing meetings and regularly report progress to the Marketing and Communications Manager.
  • Willingness to attend events organised by the charity and supporters
  • Undertake any additional appropriate marketing duties including participating in the planning, administrative and operational activities of the department.
