About the company:

We’ve got an exceptional tradition in motor racing and have been the dominant team in Formula 1 for a number of years. At HPP (High Performance Powertrains) we’re responsible for the design and manufacture of Mercedes-Benz Formula 1 racing engines and hybrid power systems for the MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS team. We’re also proud suppliers to Sahara Force India and Williams Martini Racing.

We create the entire Formula 1 Power Unit, from concept all the way through to racing, and also undertake advanced, high technology projects to transfer F1 technologies into mainstream automotive and high performance road cars. You may have recently heard about our newest venture in this field, Project One, where we’re putting an F1 engine into a roadworthy car – the first of its kind, and a phenomenal engineering challenge.

About the role:

At Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains we offer a 12 month HR Placement Scheme which will tap into your passion and determination, giving you a real opportunity to contribute to our success story.

In HR we are responsible for recruiting, developing and rewarding an exceptional, high performance workforce who design, build, manufacture and test five-time World Championship-winning Power Units for Mercedes AMG Petronas in Formula 1 and Mercedes Benz EQ Formula E Team in Formula E. In addition to this, we are also leading the transfer of state-of-the-art Formula 1 technology into the revolutionary Mercedes AMG Road Car “Project One".

This year we are offering a 12 month Placement within our Recruitment team in HR, designed to provide you with an experience of how we recruit a world championship winning workforce;

During your 12 month placement you will experience the following:

  • Support the recruitment of our yearly student intake, including the coordination of assessment centres, recruitment fairs and other recruitment activities
  • Coordination and administration of the onboarding process for all new starters, from offer to probationary period
  • Take ownership of the weekly new starter induction, providing a smooth and efficient introduction to the company
  • Managing internal communications through the publishing of HPP’s newsletter
  • General Recruitment support such as booking interviews, assisting with interviews and creating job descriptions
  • Assisting with compliance topics such as Right to work checks and Background checks in line with auditing requirements

Requirements:

  • A curious, tenacious and driven individual with a hunger to work in a fast paced environment
  • You’ll be on target to achieve a 2:1 or above in a relevant business degree
  • An exceptional level of detail, motivated to produce high quality work during time pressured situations
  • The confidence to quickly build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
  • Determination, resourcefulness and focus, to deliver results on time and to a high standard
  • The ability to evaluate and understand data and information quickly, using information to identify options, making recommendations and robust decisions
  • A passion for continuous improvement in order to seek out new ways to add value to the business
