About the Role:

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a graduate to gain experience with our Communications team working across internal communications and research communications with a focus on social media. This is a two-year placement starting in September 2018.

In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to work across several key aspects of modern communications, including social media, press, content creation and strategy, campaigns, understanding audiences, message development and internal communications. At the end of the two years, you will have gained a thorough grounding in modern communications practice, while making important contributions to our work.

You will work with two busy teams supporting Internal Communications, and Research Communications with a focus on social content.

As part of the role you can expect to:

  • Support the Head of Internal Communications and Internal Communications Manager to deliver cross-Wellcome campaigns and employee engagement initiatives
  • Manage standalone communications campaigns and events from start to finish that contribute to the delivery of our strategy
  • Develop an in depth understanding of Wellcome and build strong relationships with departments and individuals at all levels
  • Support the Social Content Lead to create and deliver engaging social content around Wellcome’s core messages across all our channels
  • Report social media insights to key people around Wellcome to understand how social media is a key channel for our communications
  • Support the production, development and promotion of Mosaic
  • Support the discovery, development, promotion and evaluation of stories about research, including digital content.
