Graduate Internship - Organisational Change and Innovation at Derbyshire Constabulary

Where: England - East Midlands

Deadline: June 25, 2018

Type: Graduate

About the Company:

Main business: Defence, public protection and security

Derbyshire Constabulary is committed to reducing and investigating crime, protecting people and promoting law and order across the county of Derbyshire.

Derbyshire is renowned for being hugely diverse, encompassing the rural areas of the Peak District as well as old mining communities, modern towns and business centres. It is also home to the vibrant and culturally diverse city of Derby.

About the Role:

Derbyshire Constabulary is an exciting place to work. Our progressive leadership team have launched an organisational change programme to drive improvement by tapping into the knowledge, commitment and innovation of our teams and working closely with our friends and colleagues in Derbyshire Fire and Rescue.

Our Business Futures team is the guiding force behind the change. They are looking for 4 graduate interns to support projects in our Change and Innovation team and to work closely with Fire and Rescue to aid our on-going collaboration projects.

We want to find people who share our values:

  • Doing the right thing
  • Shaping the future
  • Making a difference

To this end we are seeking new graduates with a ‘can –do’ attitude. We don’t want to make change for change sake, but know that the only way we can maintain high standards is through constructively challenging whether traditional approaches are still fit for purpose – we’d therefore like to work with people who are inquisitive, can look at problems and situations from a fresh perspective, will ask questions we wouldn’t traditionally ask and hopefully find different answers and solutions.

We are a friendly, sociable bunch, so you’ll need to be someone who is great at building relationships and is comfortable getting out and about talking to people.

Requirements:

We aren’t looking for academic purists. We want to find solutions we can implement, so are keen to find good listeners who understand the implications of change and as such can balance solid research and theory with the need to deliver practical improvements.

We are open to graduates from any discipline, but those with a background or interest in areas such as project management, organisational change, emerging technology, big data, marketing and design would be most welcome.
