About the Role:

Prior to the start of your first placement, you’ll benefit from a week-long residential induction. This includes an introduction to BAE Systems, some finance training, team building activities and a chance to meet both existing FLDP graduates and senior finance personnel. Then, it’s into a great five-year programme, which will give you three year-long placements followed by a two-year placement, each being within a different part of our business and in a different geographical location. This will ensure you gain a breadth of experience across our many sites, projects and cultures, all of which will contribute to your portfolio of skills and experience.

In the first three years, your training will be focused on helping you attain your CIMA qualification. Our comprehensive CIMA study package includes support worth over £15,000 and over 14 weeks’ of study leave. You’ll be allocated a corporate mentor who’ll be there with all sorts of advice and guidance regarding your career.

You’ll attend workshops aimed at developing your interpersonal skills and providing you with an opportunity to network with other finance professionals. Enabling you to share knowledge as you go along is extremely important to us. So, you’ll be attending our annual Finance Leaders Development Conference as well as your individual year group workshops.

Requirements:

  • To join us on the FLDP you must have a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor's degree in any subject and 112 UCAS points (new tariff) or equivalent (excluding General Studies).
  • You will need to show flexibility and resilience and have exceptional practical and analytical skills to thrive on the programme, and take responsibility for your own progression.
  • Finance is a very hands-on profession that will see you working in demanding industrial environments, so it’s vital that you have the tact, confidence and tenacity to challenge accepted practices and robustly manage cost savings at ground level.
  • You must also be willing to move to new locations annually to maximise your development on the programme
