NHS Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) exists to improve the health care of the local population. About the Role:

Working in a small team, the finance Assistant will gain first hand experience of the different functions of a finance department and the overall management of a large complex organisation. The role will support the provision of financial information to the CCGs budget holders and will play a key part in creating and updating key contract information.

The post holder will gain an insight into how the NHS is organised, funded and performance managed and will develop links with colleagues both within and outside of the organisation.

This placement is also a unique opportunity to develop communication skills with a wide range of NHS professionals and develop presentational and IT skills by working for CCG, which has a strong tradition of good financial and performance management.

The post holder will learn and understand the role and function of a finance department undertaking a range of duties to achieve this. In doing so they will support the Management Accounts functions within the organisation and become a key link with financial accounts. They will assist in ensuring orders are processed, payments are made correctly and manage the financial information requirements required by the finance department. They will also assist in preparing budgetary and reporting systems and implementing procedures that enable an effective financial management service to be provided to the various budget managers. In so doing, the post holder ill assist the finance team in reviewing and controlling resources.
