About the Role:

Are you looking for a year in industry to complement your studies? We are looking for an enthusiastic Events Assistant Placement Student. This is a great opportunity for a current undergraduate to gain industry experience working in the Events Team of a FTSE 100 Company. The placement will run for 12/13 months and will be based in Nottingham.

So what will you be doing?

You will be working with the Events Team, to provide assistance to the Event Managers. You’ll take personal responsibility for specific roles as well as overall pre-event, onsite and post-event support on a number of events throughout the year.

You’ll work with Event Sponsors across multiple functions to understand customer needs, strategic objectives and business context, as well as liaise with suppliers effectively and ensure the best possible contribution is received. You’ll have full responsibility for a portfolio of small events for internal and external customers, including developing and managing delegated budgets.

Requirements:

  • High degree of self-motivation, energy and initiative, tenacity in driving results
  • Independent thinking skills to solve problems
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage working relationships effectively
  • Basic project and event management skills
  • Basic financial management and reporting (for smaller event budgets)
  • Ability to manage changing priorities within short deadlines, excellent time management
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Some understanding of effective messaging and customer engagement
  • Some understanding of Marketing process and channels
