About the Role:
Solihull Council is looking for two university graduates for an 11-month paid Communications Internship Programme.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates to take the first step in their career in a complex and varied workplace. The role offers excellent work experience with a full package of training and support throughout. At the end of the contract interns will leave with a great portfolio to help them gain permanent employment.
The successful candidates will have the chance to work in our busy Communications Team, taking calls from journalists, responding to enquiries, writing and issuing press releases and statements; as well as helping to set up interviews and briefings with the media.
Also as part of the role you will be taking on campaigns to promote Council issues through traditional and digital channels; this could be anything from community clean-ups, to school dinners, to initiatives to encourage recycling.
