About the UK Claims team
The success of our ambitious claims function requires constant improvement of our customer service, supported by efficient and effective processes and systems. We must continue to deliver innovative and relevant projects to ensure we maintain our position as a market leader and stand out against our competitors.

The role
Working as a Project Consultant you would join the UK Claims team and support the Head of Portfolio Claims to manage and deliver the Portfolio Claims vision where you will own parts of or run entire projects. Portfolio Claims is an evolution of our current UK Claims operating model, segmenting our lower value claims, building new operating models and delivering improved customer service with greater productivity/indemnity management. You will gain exposure to many facets of how the business operates now, whilst influencing and building how it will operate in the future. You will work across the various claims functions (Casualty, Property and Specialty) as well as with other relevant teams, such as the Group Claims Change team and the UK Change and Operations teams, to build solutions using data analytics and automation. The role will ensure you develop your skills in project management and business analysis as well as heighten your commercial awareness, providing a strong foundation for your future career.

  • Working with a variety of teams across Claims and outside our business area you will be tasked with identifying opportunities and delivering your solutions to ensure our customer service and business process and system improvements are best in class
  • Fulfil the Business Analyst role on medium to large projects, working in conjunction with other Change professionals and the Property Claims Management Team
  • Fulfil a combined Project Manager/Business Analyst role on smaller projects, leading and shaping change from inception through to delivery
  • Data analysis to identify trends and enable business leaders to make quick and informed decisions based on your analysis
  • Actively review data and information available about our competitors and the claims industry, to identify any potential threats to our market leading position and new concepts in the industry
  • Communicate your findings to senior stakeholders in Claims and other business areas

Our must-haves:

  • Be proactive, logical and analytical – someone who challenges the status quo
  • Demonstrate an ability to gather and use data to identify areas of change or improvement that can bring about the greatest benefit to the business
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills to build and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Have an ability to analyse data/information and explain the results clearly and succinctly
  • Be able to work efficiently under pressure, both on your own and as part of a team delivering accurate results to strict deadlines
  • Be determined to succeed in a fast paced environment and have the persistency to see tasks through to completion
  • Demonstrate energy and passion to engage others in change
  • Be computer literate, with an advanced understanding of Excel. PowerPoint skills would be advantageous
