You’ll be gaining an insight into how we make sure we develop leading edge, innovative solutions on this paid internship, working on an exciting project that could lead you to joining us on a graduate scheme.

About the programme

The aim of this internship is to give you a taste of what it’s like to work here, along with valuable skills and experiences that you’ll bring into your future career.

We’ll reward you with a salary of £21,500 pro rata.

The programme starts with an induction day, where you’ll learn about RBS, meet your fellow interns, and get the chance to talk with colleagues from around our business.

You’ll then begin a unique 10 week placement, where you’ll attend training workshops, get involved with our live day to day work, and take part in a business project. This will give you the opportunity to complete research on a topic and come up with recommendations for improvement or change to support our ambitions.

During the programme, you’ll also work on a Social Impact Project. This will help you to develop keys skills covering team working, planning, creative thinking, business plan writing and problem solving – all while contributing to a valuable cause.

For the full 10 weeks, we’ll pair you with a buddy and a line manager, who’ll help you grow your network and provide guidance and support.

At the end of the placement, we’ll assess you on what you’ve learned. Complete this successfully, and you’ll be offered a place on our 2021 Change and Business Solutions graduate programme, where you’ll carry the skills you’ve learned from your internship forward, taking the next exciting step in your career.

Requirements:

To be eligible for our internship programme, you’ll need to be in your penultimate year of a university degree, and on course for a 2:1.

We’re looking for people who have a real passion for innovation, who want to take on new challenges head on. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills, and an inquisitive nature, paired with a technical mind-set and analytical abilities.
