Business Operations at Baillie Gifford & Co

Where: Scotland

Deadline: December 31, 2018

Type: Graduate

About the Company:

Main business: Finance (incl. accountancy, insurance, pensions and fundraising)

Baillie Gifford was established as an investment management partnership over 100 years ago. Today, with more than 1,000 people based in Edinburgh, we are a leading independent global investment management business with over £180 billion under management. Our investors research a company’s potential to grow significantly in the next five to ten years, which is often influenced by many diverse and conflicting factors. That means questioning everything that happens around us, and anticipating the consequences of local, regional and global events. In other words, we try to foresee what the future holds.

About the Role:

Join this two-year rotational Business Operations programme and experience the full cycle of over a dozen operational teams, which support our growing business.

We wouldn’t expect you to know right now which team you’ll join in two years’ time. That’s precisely why our rotational programme provides such exposure, and graduates are often surprised at the wide range of professional opportunity. Our programme is designed to allow you to work on real projects and develop new ideas in everything from Business Risk and Finance to Governance and Sustainability, Client Operations and much more.

And once you’ve built that foundation, launch your career here in a specialism that’s matched to your talents, interests and aspirations. Find your place in Baillie Gifford.

Requirements:

You might have studied business, or something else entirely. We’re looking for people who are fascinated by the way organisations work. In terms of your degree subject, we’re completely open-minded, although an interest in business is a must. We’re looking for people with a consultative and problem-solving approach, and a passion for learning.
