We are a team of 65, based out of modern, bright and airy offices on Regent Street, the heart of Mayfair in central London. Our open-plan office encourages collaboration, sharing, and support. Candidate Profile

Our Business Development team work as trusted advisors to major FTSE 250 clients, to provide leadership, direction and insight to organisations that have/face sustainability and performance improvement requirements. The team are engaged in understanding client requirements and selling solutions that will help reduce carbon emissions and improve organisational performance. These services include Science-based targets, strategy development, data management and building and people optimisation services.

The Business Development Graduate will work within this team supporting the overall sales activities. This will include researching clients and markets, managing reports as well as being the first point of contact for clients and prospects.

Job role

  • This is a full-time role with a probationary period of four months

  • The ideal candidate will be a talented, ambitious individual who wants to gain experience working in a dynamic business development team that is focused on building long-term trust-based client relationships

  • To support the team in sales coordination, analysis and activities related to creating value and developing business with prospects and clients

  • Working and collaborating with Senior Consultants and Consultants in developing solutions and proposals for sustainability clients and prospects

  • Qualify new leads by really understanding the business challenge and be the first point of contact for prospective clients, demonstrating the ability to build rapport and understand needs, leading to conversion

  • Researching, analysing and reporting on companies, markets and sustainability trends, as well as preparing presentations and statistics

  • Spot and react to new business opportunities e.g. attend industry and sustainability events, seminars, exhibitions, commenting to relevant posts on social media

Requirements:

Profile

  • A passion for sustainability and what we do and alignment with our company values of Courage, Curiosity and Collaboration

  • Intellectually strong. A degree or master’s degree in a relevant discipline (environment and energy-related subjects, business or economics or related-fields) would be an advantage

  • A customer focused people person, with excellent verbal and written communication skills who can build rapport and enjoys developing relationships

  • A person who will take our solutions on board, understand them and be passionate when describing what we do to others

  • High level of motivation and commitment, who has the ability to manage time effectively and has the drive and tenacity to get things done

  • Strong creative and report writing skills with a proven track record of developing content, for example sustainability reports, newsletters or blogs

  • A team player, who can also work independently and enjoys goal-oriented work

  • The ambition to continually develop and keen to pursue a career in consultancy

Additional desirable expertise:

  • It would be beneficial if you have some prior experience working in a client facing position

  • Experience producing sales presentations and proposals

  • Knowledge of approaches to sustainability taken by large organisations
