Actuarial Summer Internship 2018 with RSA Insurance Group

Where: England - Multiple

Deadline: December 15, 2017

Type: Internship

About the Company:

Today we’re one of the world’s longest standing general insurers providing peace of mind to individuals and families, and protecting small businesses and large corporation from uncertainty for more than 305 years.

Being a part of RSA means being part of a vibrant community, not just a corporate culture. It means being a member of a collaborative team enriched by diversity and united by a single commitment to do the best for our customers. And it means being part of a company committed to being responsible in the way we conduct every aspect of our business: the way we sell our products, the way we manage our claims processes and the way we engage with customers and employees.

About the Role:

If you are highly mathematical and considering a future as an actuary, you should consider our actuarial internship where you could be looking at the pricing of insurance products – we challenge our actuaries to develop new and innovative ways of assessing and pricing risks to maintain our leading positions in the market. Alternatively you could be involved in calculating the reserves we need to make sure we can meet all of our claims.

When you join our 8-week internship programme (Beginning of July 2018) you’ll work on a significant real-life project. Shadowing subject matter experts and potentially working with other business areas as part of a broad project team. It’s a great opportunity to gain an insider’s view of our business, work on a real business project and demonstrate what you can do. For the right candidates it could well be the route into a longer-term career with RSA.

Requirements:

The internship is open to penultimate year students who are on track to obtain at least a 2:1 Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Actuarial Science or another highly numerate degree discipline and will have achieved a minimum of 300 UCAS points across three A-level (or equivalent) subjects including Maths.
