About the Role:
In this role as Actuarial Analyst, you may work in a variety of roles within the department. All activities set out below may not apply to every role within Actuarial, however the principles are common. Key role responsibilities:
- Perform high quality analysis and produce accurate output in line with reporting, pricing, or other requirements that apply.
- Ensure work is documented to the required audit standard.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to deliver the Actuarial team objectives.
- Deliver all services to business and customers in a timely manner to meet expectations.
- Carry out routine processes in line with documented procedures, and ensure documented procedures are kept up to date.
- Apply actuarial judgement to propose process improvements to reduce cost, whilst improving controls and increasing service.
- Escalate risks and issues to line management in a timely manner and assist with implementation of solution where appropriate.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data is maintained.
- Actively support knowledge management and knowledge sharing within the Actuarial Department.
- Be prepared to rotate around different business areas every 18-24 months to expand skill set.
- Commitment to professional study requirements of the role.
- Actively participate in team meetings and workshops attended.
Requirements:
- Achieved (or predicted) 2:1 or above in a numerical, scientific or economics based degree
- Grade B in A level Mathematics (or equivalent)
- Solid mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to think analytically and should be a problem solver.
- Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information.
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both peers and senior management.
