“CLEAR IDEAS is a way of tackling problems more creatively. It’s not just a way of helping you come up with more ideas; it will also help you pick which ideas to take forward and will assist you in putting those ideas into practice more effectively.” Dr Kamal Birdi.

CLEAR IDEAS is a tool developed by award-winning Work Psychologist, Dr Kamal Birdi (Senior Lecturer in Occupational Psychology at Sheffield University Management School).

Kamal has over 20 years of experience in researching and working alongside major organisations. CLEAR IDEAS was hailed by The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) for creating savings of £1.7million for social care services in Sheffield. It has been used by South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue and the Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, the latter with estimated savings of £10,000 per year.

It's an innovation process that helps solve a wide range of work and personal related issues by using an advanced and sophisticated step-by-step online tool to yield innovative solution-focused ideas.

This can be applied in areas such as

  • Developing novel products

  • Introducing new services

  • Achieving cost savings

  • Change management in any type of organisation.

Speaker Profile:

Dr Kamal Birdi gained a PhD in Psychology from The University of Sheffield following an MSc in Occupational Psychology and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology. He is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Health and Care Professions Council, a Chartered Member of the European Federation of Psychologists Associations (EuroPsy) and an ESRC/EPSRC Advanced Institute of Management (AIM) Scholar. In 2010, he was given the BPS Division of Occupational Psychology Academic Contribution to Practice Award for his work on training evaluation and innovation.
