OMDS Research Seminar: 'Location/arc-routing: where to locate the depots and how to define good routes when demand obliges to traverse certain arcs' with Prof Elena Fernandez

This research seminar is hosted by the division of Operations Management and Decision Science at Sheffield University Management School.

Speaker: Prof Elena Fernandez from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona

Abstract:

Location/routing combines two of the most frequent problems arising in distribution logistics. We review potential applications and specific characteristics that appear when service demand is placed at the arcs of a given network. We also discuss multi-depot arc-routing, which emerges as a challenging subproblem.
