Guilherme Guimarães is a Management School alumnus gaining an MSc in Sport Management in 2008 and is now the General Manager of Ativa Esporte.
Guilherme took time out of his busy sports marketing consultancy role to come back to the School to share with an audience of staff and students his experience of working on major sports events including; Rio 2016 Olympic Games; FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014; Tênis Espetacular; NBA Baskteball Show; and Athina Onassis International Horse Show São Paulo.
Drawing upon his involvement in such mega events and also his previous roles as Director of Sports for Twitter Brazil, British Council, and Geo Eventos, Guilherme provided insight into how digital marketing can engage audiences with events on such a wide scale.
Guilherme originally graduated in Advertising and Journalism (UFMG), then obtained an MSc in Sport Management from Sheffield University Management School. He is a member of the alumni board at the University of Sheffield and is the author of academic papers and articles on sports marketing, lectures at FIA Sao Paolo and is an Atlético-MG fan.
