Host a student project

A student project at the Management School is when a Masters student (MSc or MBA) carries out their research dissertation project, as part of their studies, within an organisational setting. Students can work with your company on a particular issue or challenge set by you as the host organisation, and guided by us, for a period of around three to four months.

The student will usually undertake the project from May through to August and will provide the organisation with feedback in September after the project is completed.

We shortlist project submissions around November to December for the following year, but we will discuss ideas for future projects at any time.

Sheffield University Management School is among the global elite of Triple Crown accredited business and management schools. A student studying a Masters programme at postgraduate level has usually already completed an undergraduate degree. They are looking to specialise their knowledge and acquire the expertise needed to develop a career in their chosen area of management.

Your organisation will benefit from fresh ideas and enthusiasm of our students, as well as the latest in management thinking and practice. It's a chance for you to examine a particular business issue and gain extra support in finding possible solutions.

We shortlist project submissions around November to December for the following year, but we will discuss ideas for future projects at any time.
